Feeding the monster

So I'm feeling rather like Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde this week.  But instead fighting my cravings, tonight I've decided to feed the monster.

Overall Recipe Difficulty:Easy
Preparation Time:1 minute
Cooking Time:1 minute
  • Serves:1

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons Water, room temperature
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 4 Tablespoons White Sugar or Caster Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 4 Tablespoons Plain Flour

Method:

  1. 1

In a large coffee mug, add Water, Butter and Vanilla Essence. Stir well.

  2. 2

Add Sugar, Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, Plain Flour and Table Salt. Stir well until uniformly mixed.

  3. 3

Microwave for 60 to 90 seconds. Center of brownie should be slightly molten.

  4. 4

Enjoy with a spoon. Careful brownie will be hot. Good served with a tablespoon or two of vanilla ice cream. I used a 1100 watt microwave. 60 seconds makes a molten center brownie. 75 seconds makes a uniformly cooked brownie.

  5. You will notice there is no pic of my actual brownie in a mug and that my friend is because I ate the darn thing before I decided to write this post!
  6. I had mine with a big dollop of vanilla bean gelato on top.
  7. Totally hit the spot.
  8. I did find it to be more or a pudding consistency than a brownie, but it didn't matter because it was delish.
  9. Even hubby who is not a fan of warm desserts at all smashed his down and said it was like something out of Masterchef!
